At school, I’ve had amazing teachers, each one unique and fun. They have always been there for me, helping me every step of the way. But there was just one teacher who stood out from the rest, just 1% more. And that teacher is the one and only Mrs. Satalo, my year three teacher.
Why I think she is the best teacher
First things first, it’s the way Mrs. comes into the classroom. Normal teachers sensibly walk in. She, however, practically bounced with joy like a spring that will make anyone feel happy even on Mondays! Mrs. Satalo has always been very encouraging, humorous, and very happy every single day I went to school in year three, with the magic ability to turn boring maths into something exciting. One minute we’re looking at the board and the next we’re laughing so hard we can’t stop! I don’t think there was a single day I was bored or tired or sleepy. And that’s what I loved about having Mrs. Satalo as a teacher. I remember waiting for the break, despite the fact that the crystal clear air and huge field could never compare to the subtle feeling of the classroom, to end just so I could be in her class again. I remember waiting for the next chapter to be read, the next math sum to be solved, and at the end of the day, I remember waiting for another exciting and energetic day to come
The unfortunate separation
Alas, nothing good ever lasts forever. In the middle of year three, the year one teacher mysteriously disappeared ( I think??? IDK ), and Mrs. Satalo had to teach the year ones, while the two year three classes joined. My teachers were very nice, but I couldn't help thinking about how much better it would be if Mrs. Satalo were still our teacher.
The best moments I remember in her class
We were never just boredly waiting for the end of the day to come in our chairs. We were doing brain breaks or learning about our subject, doing actions to remember things. With Mrs. Satalo’s Swedish personality, ( which explains how she can cope with English weather, but I do wonder if she can build IKEA furniture without reading instructions), I don't think that I could have asked for a teacher who would somehow be better than her. In fact, the first week of being in her class was full of fun and games and no learning. The first day of year three was undoubtedly scary for me, given the fact that I had only seen Mrs. Satalo a couple of times, but I had no reason to worry. We shared facts about each other, did some wonderful watercolor, and had fun! Throughout the week, we would do art, games, and so much more! Honestly! If teaching were an Olympics, she would win every time.
Just gonna note that all of my teachers are also marvelous.
